Games To Watch Out For In 2013

7 Post-Mayan Apocalypse Video Games To Watch Out For In 2013 (If We Make It That Far)

we survive the coming Mayan apocalypse, we’ll still have to survive a whole bunch of post-apocalyptic video games in 2013.

The Mayan Apocalypse is nearly upon us, and as Paul Tassi has pointed out, there’s lots of great post-apocalyptic games from our past that can comfort us in these last few days of human civilization, or help prepare us for the mutant/zombie/alien hordes.
But should the world not end on December 21st we’ll soon be privy to a whole slew of world-destroying, end-times defying video games. Here are seven to keep an eye on in 2013.

Crysis 3 – PC / Xbox 360 / PS3

Genre: First-Person Shooter
Crytek’s third Crysis game looks amazing, at least visually. Whether or not the game is as fun to play as it is pretty remains to be seen.
Set in 2047, players take on the role of the Prophet returning to New York City only to find that it’s been encased in a giant Nanodome. The game takes place two decades after the events in Crysis 2, long after the onset of the Ceph invasion and the outbreak of the “Manhattan” virus.
Corrupt corporations and their private armies, the toxic remains of the alien invasion, and visuals made possible by the powerful Crytek engine, the game is a post-apocalyptic shooter that will push the limits of current generation hardware according to Crytek.
Crysis 3 is due out in February 2013. You can check out the official website here.
